  Droid Building
Posted by: Shortmay - 03-05-2017, 02:19 AM - Forum: Feature Suggestions - Replies (2)

I was recently Watching Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, and got to thinking, wouldn't it be really cool to amass your own robot army? Well of course it would! but unfortunately you cant exactly do that in real life. But in Minecraft you can! I suggest the addition of an automated factory block that can be filled with materials and pump out droids of your choosing from the star wars universe. The droids could be set as followers and work as your army and fight for you. Of course it would be somewhat op having your own army, so it could be nerfed by making the production cost in materials high for each droid.

On a side note i also noticed that although the world of PSWM was quite lively and intricate, the npcs, where somewhat static and lifeless (no offense of course as i understand the difficulty of making entity's entirely as i have started making my own mods and have on several occasions, felt like hitting my head against a wall) i think that if npcs in PSWM were to act more random, and break out into gunfights, or if they were seen eating and drinking in bars, and maybe if there was a cantina band, the world might seem even more alive than it already does.

In vanilla Minecraft they have those mine shafts, libraries, and dungeons that contain treasures. So why not add something like that in the mod?

Instead of the things I mentioned have Sith Tombs, Jedi Temples, and Smuggler/Crime Dens. Some abandoned some not. Maybe have quests involving them? Like retrieve an item.

Sith Tombs:
The Sith Tombs would have to be mainly on Korriban. Possibly on other planets but you'd have to look that up. Mobs inside could be Imperials and/or Sith trying to recover lost knowledge, artifacts, and what not. Creatures that now live or protect there like the K'lor'slug. There could also be looters trying to make a profit. Now the treasure should be like.. a Sith lightsaber or parts for one. Quest items too. Considering the tombs from SWTOR games I've played (all 3) there should a chance for traps. That trap you, summon a creature(s), or destroy the treasure/tomb.

Jedi Temples:
Next. The Jedi Temples. Planet wise I believe they're on peaceful, untouched planets. I think. The mobs. Probably just Jedi. Maybe looters and creatures? or something like Jedi Training Droids. The treasure is just Jedi lightsabers, parts, and quest items. Now these Temples should probably have parkour and training droids. To test your skills in the force and what not.

Smuggler/Crime Dens:
And finally the dens. On planets with crime obviously. Mobs are Bounty Hunters, Smugglers, Gangsters, Mercenaries, and such. Maybe some people or animals in cages or cells. The treasure is stolen goods. Like money, blasters, spices, and quest items. The buildings should probably be hidden or a ship. Maybe a trap like explosives and turrets.

  Quest Log

When I played I got to a quest I didn't really understand and couldn't finish it so I had to restart and a way I think that could be avoided is if you  can open the Quest Log and see the current details of the quest

Blade Clashing & New Saber Mechanics
Posted by: Kusark - 03-04-2017, 02:06 AM - Forum: Feature Suggestions - Replies (2)

Basically when two people swing at the same time, or within a certain time frame that's close together, the blades would clash off each other and not inflict any damage (or possibly just minimal damage.) This is just to encourage people to also use force powers along with their saber attacks. Perhaps to balance this and not just drag out fights, a stamina bar could be added. Maybe every time you clash blades with someone else, the stamina meter will go down slightly. When the bar runs out, you can no longer block attacks due to fatigue. People will have to use a variety of force powers to evade their opponent to regenerate enough stamina if they want to block any more attacks.

Along with this system, different types of hilts could be added and also different types of stats per saber. Depending on the length of the light saber's blade could determine how far you can hit. But in order to balance this out, perhaps light sabers with a shorter blade can swing much faster and a longer blade would swing slower than an average blade or short blade. I think this could fit in quite nicely with 1.11's new combat system and could also balance things out. Going back to the hilts, different kinds of hilts or modifications could be added like a pike in order to increase range, but it would slow down your attack speed.

I was also thinking of ways that players could also adjust their saber's stats. There could be different modifications or augmentations you could put on your saber to adjust different things. An example would be some kind of modification to increase attack damage, but doing so would also lower it's attack speed - you get the general idea.

EDIT: I plan to add more detail to the thread, this is just a rough idea I came up with.

  Zann Consortium & Bounty Hunting
Posted by: Noot4Noot - 03-03-2017, 11:42 PM - Forum: Feature Suggestions - Replies (5)

(putting both in the same thread since they're small)

I just wanted to bring to your attention this group. The Zann Consortium. I don't think they are very well known. But who knows maybe you guys will like em. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Zann_Consortium/Legends

The next thing is what about bounty hunting quests? Basically you go to someone and get a quest to kill a target and get money. Maybe have the target protected by mercenaries or something. And/or maybe rivals that try to kill your target and/or you. I don't know if any of that is possible. but yeah.

PS: I got a lot of small ideas like this. Like mobs to add and factions and mini-games. Where do I put that? or just forget that stuff?

  Smuggling Quests
Posted by: Shortmay - 02-28-2017, 05:11 PM - Forum: Feature Suggestions - Replies (3)

Throughout the star wars universe Crime plays a rather large and important role and even drives the economy on certain planets such as the Hutt ruled Tatooine and Nal Hutta. The majority of crime in the star wars universe is smuggling, Mainly smuggling spice and guns that is. The planet kessel is where kessel spice is smuggled out of and distributed to the crime lords of different planets like Coruscant (starwars.wikia.com).  I suggest an in depth crime/smuggling system to be implemented into PSWM, where the player can run radiant smuggling missions for a crime boss on Tatooine (maybe even a certain hutt crime boss). The missions could consist of traveling to another planet to pick up a shipment of spice, guns, water, ect... and bringing it back to Tatooine for pay. This sort of thing happens to be rather illegal in the star wars universe so, local authorities would of course be on the lookout. How could this be done? Well a system where police on planets will at random ask to check your inventory would need to be added, and much like normal quest dialog, you could have several options, comply and be have your contraband confiscated, or refuse, and be prepared to run. The smuggling implementation would of course require several new items, like kessel spice, gun shipments, and a few new structures for the crime bosses to operate from, as well as police npcs. I would greatly appreciate it if this idea was looked over, and i thank you for your time, as this post is rather long.

  Guide: Feature Suggestion
Posted by: Weaston - 02-24-2017, 03:13 PM - Forum: Feature Suggestions - Replies (1)

Create a new thread for any feature suggestion or idea you may have.
But first, please try and search to see if it's already been submitted. If it has, post in that thread and discuss or suggest revisions to the original poster's idea.

Please try to have somewhat fleshed out ideas and implementations, don't just say "You guys should add XXX" or "Have you guys heard of XXX".  Chances are we've heard of it, or yes we plan on adding it.

Try to think and discuss new features for the mod not just new content, ie. a new merchant system, not just suggesting a ship to add.

*Canonicity Disclaimer:
We have tried to make this mod as canon correct as humanly possible. That being said, some intricate details and features were omitted or reworked to make the mod more playable, or in some cases, plausible in the Minecraft universe. We are just fans of Star Wars and could never possibly know everything about the entire universe and make everything in this mod 100% canon and correct. However, we did make this mod with canonicity in mind, and through long hours of research strongly believe that we have created a good example of a canon Star Wars experience in the Minecraft environment. If we got something really wrong or you have any suggestions, questions, comments, or problems with our mod, please post it as an issue to us on our GitHub. Feel free to make pull requests to fix bugs, but please contact us is you plan to change or add new features. We will get back to you as soon as possible and take everything you say very seriously and appreciate any and all support of our work.
